The Funhub Summit 80 Expedition Superyacht is the most capable and technically sophisticated vessel in the Funhub range — an ice-class expedition yacht designed to operate in the polar regions, remote archipelagos, and high-latitude waters that are inaccessible to conventional superyachts and represent the final frontier of private maritime exploration. The Polar Class 7 steel hull — 20mm plate at the bow, 15mm topsides — is designed to operate in first-year ice up to 0.8 meters thick without hull damage, supported by an ice-breaker bow form that deflects ice blocks away from the hull rather than attempting to ride over them, protecting the propellers and steering system in ice-choked passages. The twin Rolls-Royce azimuthing thruster pods — 2 × 2,400hp — provide the Summit 80 with a bollard pull of 22 tonnes, sufficient to extract itself from ice traps and tow vessels of equivalent displacement, while the dynamic positioning system maintains station in polar currents and winds without anchor deployment. The submarine bay in the forward lower deck houses a two-person submersible — rated to 200m depth — that can be launched and recovered at sea by the ship’s crane in sea states up to Sea State 4, providing the owner and guests with the ability to explore underwater environments at destinations beyond the reach of any diving operation. Six guest suites, owner’s loft suite with panoramic glass ceiling, observation lounge, science laboratory, and helicopter landing pad complete the summit of private maritime capability. LOA: 24.4m. Beam: 7.2m.
