Funhub Meridian 60 Sailing Ketch — World Cruiser with Watermaker and Freezer

The Funhub Meridian 60 Sailing Ketch is the yacht for the owner who has decided to sail around the world — not the owner who is planning to, but the one who has committed, studied the routes, and now requires a yacht that will deliver them safely and comfortably to every ocean on the planet and return them home again. The ketch rig — mainmast and mizzen — is chosen over a sloop for offshore range sailing because it distributes the sail area between two manageable sails, allows the yacht to be hove-to more effectively in storm conditions by backing the mizzen against the main, and provides a wide variety of sail combinations that can be matched precisely to the wind strength and point of sail. The main driving sail of 95 square meters and the furling mizzen of 28 square meters are supplemented by a 65-square-meter self-tacking jib and a Code 0 running sail of 125 square meters for downwind trade wind passages. The hull — vinylester/Corecell infused at 22,000 kg displacement — provides the structural safety margins for offshore sailing without the maintenance burden of steel or aluminum construction. The interior is built for living aboard for months at a time: a full-size galley with oven, four-burner stove, and a 200-liter 12V compressor refrigerator plus a separate 120-liter freezer; a navigation station with chart table large enough to lay out an Admiralty chart flat; three cabins — a full-beam master, a V-berth guest cabin forward, and a quarter berth — plus two heads with separate showers.
