Funhub Coastal 30 Pocket Cruiser — Trailer-Sailer with Lifting Keel

The Funhub Coastal 30 Pocket Cruiser solves the fundamental limitation of cruising yacht ownership — the requirement for a permanent marina berth and the associated costs, restrictions, and access challenges — by combining a genuine offshore-capable sailing hull with a lifting keel system that allows the yacht to be trailered on a standard tandem-axle road trailer, launched at any boat ramp, and sailed anywhere a 30-foot yacht can comfortably operate. The lifting keel deploys from its raised position — 450mm draft — to a fully extended 1.65m draft using a stainless steel cable and winch system, providing the righting moment of a fixed-keel cruising yacht in its down position and the shallow-draft capability of a coastal cruiser in its retracted position for entering tidal harbors, drying berths, and launching ramps. The hull is infused vinylester and E-glass Corecell sandwich at 2,800 kg fully loaded displacement — within the tow capacity of a 4.0L tow vehicle — making the Coastal 30 genuinely road-mobile in a way that larger cruising yachts cannot claim. The rig is fractional sloop with a 40-square-meter main and 28-square-meter furling headsail, all lines led aft to the cockpit for single-handed sailing capability. The interior provides a two-berth V-berth forward, two pilot berths in the saloon, a galley to port with two-burner stove, and a head compartment to starboard with holding tank.
