Funhub Wave 44 Performance Catamaran — Racing Sail Cat with Composite Rig

The Funhub Wave 44 Performance Catamaran is the fastest sailing yacht in the Funhub range — a thoroughbred racing catamaran that achieves boat speeds in excess of twice the true wind speed in ideal conditions, making 25-knot sailing entirely routine in a 15-knot breeze. The twin carbon fibre hulls are vacuum-infused pre-preg construction at 300gsm carbon twill, producing a fully rigged sailing weight of only 3,400 kg — a displacement-to-length ratio that enables performance unachievable in monohulls of any length. The rotating carbon fibre mast stands 22 meters above the waterline and carries a 95-square-meter main, 38-square-meter self-tacking jib, and an optional 180-square-meter asymmetric spinnaker that transforms downwind legs into exhilarating 20-knot broad reaches. Funhub’s integrated deck layout positions all sail controls — traveler, mainsheet, two headsail sheets, two spinnaker sheets, and two halyards — within reach of a single helmsperson, enabling genuine single-handed racing and performance sailing. The trampolines between the hulls are Dyneema mesh construction providing the lightest possible forward deck surface while the solid bridgedeck connects the hulls at the centre section with cockpit, companionway, and access hatches to each hull. Below decks, each hull contains a double berth, navigation station, and separate head compartment, providing comfortable accommodation for a racing crew of four or a cruising couple.
